Rotary Youth Leadership Awards
From: Katrina Salazar
Subject: RYLA Application - Due 3/22/10 by 9am

Thank you for sharing information about the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards with your teachers and students. Rotary of Sacramento is sending two 11th grade students (one male and one female) to our Rotary Youth Leadership Camp.

Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) is an intensive training program for community youth leaders. Young people chosen for their leadership potential attend an all-expenses-paid seminar, camp, or workshop to discuss leadership skills and to learn those skills through practice.

We are seeking applications from students with leadership potential. The awardees will attend one week of camp at Grizzly Creek Ranch in Portola, CA on either:
Camp 1: June 14-June 19 OR
Camp 2: June 21-June 26

It is imperative that students be available for the entire week of camp. Scheduling conflicts that require a student to come late, leave early, or miss a mid-week portion will disqualify the applicant. Transportation to and from the camp is included and students will be traveling by bus with other regional area RYLA Campers.

More information about the camp can be found at www.camp-ryla.org. Additional questions can be directed to the Rotary of Sacramento RYLA Chairperson, Katrina Salazar: Katrina@acostasalazar.com or (916) 230-9991.

We anticipate final selection of campers will be made by Monday, 3/29 with camper registration forms due no later than Friday, April 9th. This camper registration will require the signature of the student, parents/guardians, and a physician’s release or copy of a physical from this school year.
